In October and November 2021, Firelight Theatre Workshop presented our first film as part of Season 4’s theme of Sending + Receiving.
Boy meets girl. Sort of.
Theatre meets cinema. Sort of.
In this unique and arresting story, a Lady wants to meet someone. So does a Gentleman. So they do what many of us do: they set up profile for a dating service. They describe themselves. Or who they might be. Or who they want to be.
In this poetic, funny, and chilling filmed play, Pulitzer Prize finalist Will Eno explores romance, conversation, and why we're all here.

Welcome to Dinner Time. Let’s eat.
As part of Season’s 6 theme of Reunion, Firelight shared our ensemble-devised film, Dinner Time. Firelight loves the art of collaboration. Under the guidance of director Laura Carden, the actors improvised and helped to create the film’s script. What emerged was a sensorial + intimate experience.
We encourage you to enjoy the show as if you were at theatre — settle into your seat, dim the lights, silence your cell phone, invite other theatregoers to join you, or imagine them beside you. And hey, why not watch in fullscreen, or even cast this video to the biggest screen you got?
